Securing National Security

A quick post.

…”the United States “is stronger and more secure” when it can deploy both power and the “power of our values, including the rule of law.”  This is what Obama said.

This is great for those who believe in this rule of law, however those that present the greatest threat to the U.S. don’t subscribe to this Rule of Law.    What we have done is said that we are going to play by a published rulebook….like this is a football game.  Hell, it’s more like we’re playing checkers, where one person is holding a gun and the other, us, is holding the rulebook…..”You can’t shoot me, it’s not in the rul”…bang

Do I believe in hurting someone to save hundreds….yes.  I would hurt my best friend if it meant saving a hundred lives.  The people who we may hurt aren’t friends though, they are the very same persons hurting us.

No matter.  In 10 years or less, the battlefield will be in the malls and concerts here at home, not in some far away land.  It’s because we are inviting them, with our rules.  We can’t stop them until they hurt hundreds or thousands of people first, and we won’t know where to look because well, our rulebook says we can’t find meaningful intelligence by any other means than asking them politely.
