When you live in Egypt

You rely on denial.

When all your strength lies with some other object other than you, that object will fall, bringing your strength down with it.

When you aren’t dependent on yourself for a single thing, you have nobody to really blame other than yourself.

When you have to have an excuse for the problems that can all be traced to you; worse yet, you know it and don’t change it because:

Your life is a Ponzi scheme unto itself, there are no other investors.

Long Live Shannon Blue

Seems that the truck, Shannon Blue, is going to live through this accident. It’ll probably be the last one she lives through that is covered by insurance, it was a close call. After the deductible, she’s mine again!

It’s going to be weird seeing over the cars in traffic again, since I’ve been riding a little Saturn Ion. It’s fun to have the acceleration, and I’m liking the very, very smooth gear changes. It’s just annoying only being able to see the next car, not the next half mile of traffic.

Long-Bow

Apache, originally uploaded by Through These Eyes.

Jessica did this.
It started a little more than 6 months ago. Jessica was doing a cross-stitch for Rae, and I was curious is anybody had ever done any cross-stitches that looked like a real picture. Most of the ones I’ve seen are farm or Hey Zeus! oriented, have a cartoonish look.

So, I looked for software that converted a picture into a cross stitch pattern. At the time, I wasn’t sure there was. But, I found it.

I took a picture that at first thought would remind my friend Zen of the fun we had in Kuwait. I think he saw this aspect more than any other in the games we saw…anyways, I took that picture, blew it up, and made it a pattern. Not knowing much about cross stitch, I used the max amount of colors, figuring it would make it more realistic. I then printed it out, making 12 8×10 pages. I made it more as a joke, saying, Hey baby, this doesn’t look too hard hehe…

She took on the project.

This is the end result. It’s going over my desk at work. All I can say is, Awesome…
