Humanity

I think it’s odd how it seems that people will wait until the very last second in their lives to determine that they need to change something in their lives in order to live.

I agree with my friend H07, that you should go skidding into your grave, sideways and beat up, yelling “What A Ride!” when you die, but hell, don’t forget to have fun while you’re doing it.

I could just be reading too many news reports from the hundred sources I read from everyday…Some guy in italy wanting surgery to help fix his 1200 pd body…People drinking like a fish until they’re 50, looking 75, and realize 10 minutes from death that they don’t remember anything good from their lives…

I think humans have to be naturally self destructive. Maybe it’s the way for humans to keep their numbers within a sustainable management number…who knows. It’s either drama, fighting, or self destruction, or maybe a combination of the three (we call that war)…

We really are an odd species.

Differences

Today we celebrate the great Immigrant walkout. Lets see how the country works without illegal immigrants…
It seemed to work fine today, though having thousands of people meandering through the streets, I’d suggest that if you’re not going to work to protest, there isn’t a reason to cause a public safety issue instead. Go home and grill out…

I saw comparisons about the illegal immigrants and the pilgrims that landed here back a few hundred years ago. There isn’t a real comparison though, except that people traveled to get here. Back 400 years ago, there wasn’t a single country, the people came here to avoid persecution, and they didn’t come here to freeload off of tax payers. The one similarity is that they came from a different country to land here.

Another comparison that I saw was that we all came from immigrants, so it should be ok. Well, that’s sort of true, except those of us that are native. But the only similarity again is that our families came here and were naturalized. It also happened a couple of generations ago. They (the families that came here generations ago) had to fulfil a certain amount of obligations in order to get citizenship. They didn’t all just invade the country and expect the people that were living there already to just pick up the tab.

Overall, I don’t have an issue with people coming here to live and to make themselves more prosperous. I do have an issue with hundreds of thousands of people coming over, not paying taxes but expecting the taxes to pay them, and crying foul when the rest of us that are citizens say that we no longer want to pay their medical, education, and welfare expenses.

You want to draw comparisons…try comparing the benefits I can look forward to getting when my girlfriend has her baby, and look at the regular joe-schmoe that comes across and can’t habla english…I work my ass off, pay 20% of my pay into taxes, and have to look forward to paying for the birth of my baby because her and I aren’t married, but since I’m trying to be responsible and we’re not lying, we get no support. Now look at someone who comes across the border to work part time jobs and hasn’t been a citizen for 2 months. That family doesn’t have to worry about paying a thing.

Let’s talk about changing the National Anthem, to make the people that are invading feel better about invading. Lets completely change the wording and the language it’s sang in…You know, if this were any other country in the world, if that issue was even raised, it would be just as quickly dropped. There are a few countries in the world where you would be shot for suggesting that. You don’t believe me? Get out of you’re little hometown and go find out.
I believe that English is our national language, and I don’t think that it’s a big deal to expect that of everyone speak it. Sure, speak another language when you want to, but except that the national language is English.
