Geeking out
So, sitting in an office where most everybody is gone, it’s quiet. I hear the hum of two computers and the A/C unit above me, and the occasional squeek of the door outside. It’s leaving me with not a lot to do. That’s fine, it is Stargate night afterall :)
So, geeking out, that’s what I was going to talk about. I’ve put a webtracker on 3 blogs this morning, and shamelessly plugged one of my sites (http://tech2everyday.blogspot.com/ ) and watched the tracker go. It’s cool to see real live feeds of when someone goes to the site, see where they’re from, what ISP they’re using or if it’s a company. Not bad for free. The one drawback is that it won’t email me detailed reports with the free one, only summary’s. That and the log file is very small, and looks like I’ll have to keep those cleaned about every 4-5 days.
I may, one day, write in the other blog about counters and so forth. I’m waiting on Van to actually subscribe and write, and he’d be a much better person to cover something like that. He has started a new site that I may migrate to eventually, but since he’s in the process of moving to Georgia, it might be a little while before he’s up and running.
I have no point to this. That’s fine by me.
